At 5:9 we are committed to helping you find peace, be that with yourself or others. We do this by helping our clients navigate the discord, disagreements and disputes that inevitably arise in our day-to-day, be it in the workplace, in our neighbourhoods or in our relationships. Through mediation and other tried and proven alternative dispute resolution and restorative processes, we guide individuals who may find themselves feeling stuck, and even hopeless, toward a path to positive outcomes and lasting change. Step by step, we equip them with communication and conflict resolution tools that will prove invaluable throughout their lives.
Our vision
To change the common perception of conflict—defined simply as a difference of opinion, and inevitable—as being negative. Instead, we suggest that it is our approach to conflict that can either lead to our detriment or our benefit. When dealt with appropriately, conflict can open spaces for the creation of mutual understanding, positive and meaningful change, and ultimately lasting peace.
What we do
We provide mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching and forgiveness training services, in both English and French.
Our mission
Bring peace on earth one call, one session, one mediation at a time.
Jacqueline Lamarre
Our founder
A proficient, professional, people-driven, practitioner of peace: that’s Jacqueline in a nutshell. She is passionate about helping people, and in particular, helping people communicate with each other better. She is continually equipping herself with the tools she needs to parlay this passion into her life’s work, which has included a certificate in Public Relations from McGill University, a bachelor’s degree in Conflict Studies from Saint Paul University, and completion of the Third Party Neutral Program (TPN) offered by the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR). She also holds a qualified mediator (Q.Med) designation from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC) and is a Certified Graduate Coach with Coaching Out of the Box®.
Jacqueline currently works full time in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Prior to that, she worked in administration at the Ottawa Police Service, following 15+ years in customer relations and marketing roles across many industries and sectors. Outside of her paying “gigs,” Jacqueline has enjoyed serving the diverse communities to which she belongs: she has facilitated small groups for over four years at local churches; she recently started co-facilitating TPN modules at CICR; she completed her certification to be among the inaugural cohort of ForGiving forRestoring Canada (FFC) facilitators, offering unique workshops in the area of forgiveness and restoration; and, she has also served as a volunteer mediator and conflict coach with two local community mediation organizations.
